BOENMED® Thyroid T-Drape
BOENMED manufactures Thyroid T-Drape. Thyroid T-Drape is a premium, large-format version of the standard thyroid drape, designed for complex, lengthy, or bilateral thyroid surgeries. Its "T" shape and additional features provide enhanced organization, patient coverage, and support for extensive procedures.
Features & Benefits:
The T-shape drape has a large vertical panel covering the patient from the chin to the knees, and a wide horizontal cross-bar at the top designed to drape over and cover the patient's outstretched arms on armboards.
The massive size creates an expansive sterile "apron" that covers the entire anterior torso and lap, accommodating large instrument sets and potential chest drains.
Instrument pad provides a dedicated, non-slip surface for laying out a large array of clamps, retractors, nerve monitor electrodes, and energy devices. This keeps them organized, prevents them from sliding onto the patient, and separates them from fluid runoff.
Diamond fenestration with adhesive aligns with the low collar incision, and the adhesive ring provides a critical seal against skin bacteria from the neck and chest.
An extra-large absorbent pad placed over the upper chest. It soaks up the significant prep solution, blood, and irrigation fluid from lengthy dissections.
Velcro straps for securing the numerous cords for cautery, suction, nerve monitors, and headlights, which are even more plentiful in complex cases.
Applications:
The T drape is used for advanced thyroid and parathyroid procedures that require a more extensive sterile field and better organization. Ideal for:
Total Thyroidectomy (removal of the entire gland)
Thyroidectomy with Central/Lateral Neck Dissection (for thyroid cancer)
Re-operative Thyroid/Parathyroid Surgery (scar tissue increases complexity and time)
Bilateral Parathyroid Exploration
