BOENMED® Large Drape Sheet
BOENMED manufactures Large Drape Sheet. Large Drape Sheet is a patient drape or full-body sheet. Its primary function is to create the main, large sterile field that covers the majority of the patient's body and the operating table.
It acts as the foundational layer of the sterile draping system. Very large dimensions, sufficient to cover an entire adult patient from head to mid-shin or feet, and drape over the sides of the operating table.
Functions:
Creates the Core Sterile Field: This drape is not typically fenestrated and used as a base layer. Other, more specialized drapes are placed on top of this large sheet to define the specific incision site. It can also be folded or used to cover non-sterile equipment.
Isolates the Surgical Site: By covering the patient's entire body except for the immediate surgical site, it minimizes the risk of infection from the patient's own skin flora.
Applications: This drape is universal and is used in virtually every major open surgery. It acts as a critical barrier, separating the non-sterile areas of the patient and table from the sterile instruments and the surgical team.
